This course is for those interested in tackling the beach and inland dunes. The course progressively takes you through small dunes and correct tyre pressures to where you learn to conquer the tallest sand dunes of Australia.
Marvel at your ability to tackle bigger and bigger dunes as the day progresses. This is a great learning experience and our guides will ensure you have an enjoyable and safe day out.
Operating your vehicle over a variety of terrain, safe use of a single snatch strap, recoveries, ascent, descent, side slopes, gear selection, wheel changing and planning.
We limit the number of trainees so that you can still experience our excellent training standards.
Courses run regularly each month during the week and on weekends.

This Course provides Nationally Recognised Training in the following Units of Competency.

SISODRV302A (Drive and recover a 4WD vehicle)

As an overview the course includes the following;

Perform pre operational vehicle checks;

Change a wheel on a 4WD vehicle sited on uneven ground;

Stall/key start recovery downhill forward and reverse;

Implement minimal environmental impact practices

Operate a 4WD vehicle competently in off-highway conditions,          

Up and down steep inclines;

Correct range, gears and techniques

Through muddy terrain and ditches;

Across side slope involving irregular terrain;

Through water; and

Along dry and wet dirt roads.

Use a single snatch strap to recover a vehicle

Operate a 4WD vehicle giving due regard to WHS issues; and

Knowledge and skills to required use a 4WD vehicle with due regard to environmental issues.
